Meet Our Staff
Miles M. McMahon
Pastor Miles McMahon is the founder and senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Sonora. He and his wife Joyce along with their oldest daughter moved to Sonora in 1992. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and received his Master of Science from Cal Poly in International Agricultural Development. He has pastored previously founding Calvary Chapel of North Fork in 1982 and at the Filmore Christian Gardens for 6 years in Fresno. While serving as director of Survival Ministries in Kenya, East Africa he founded a small pastors training school and returns often to visit many of those same men. He also served as a missionary in Latin America for two years. He has traveled to over forty countries, and preached in over thirty countries; thus our church is a very missions minded congregation led by a missionary pastor. Pastor Miles believes that Ephesians 4:11-12 is the key passage for his ministry here in Sonora, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”. As a result, he spends the bulk of his time in teaching the Bible and training leaders in how to study and teach the Bible.
Assisting / Youth / Administrative Pastor
Justin grew up in Southern California, and moved to Las Vegas when he was 21 where he met is future bride, Becki. It was there that she introduced him to Jesus. After they moved to Lodi California, Justin stepped into a "born again" church for the first time. As Jesus began to reveal Himself to Justin, he surrendered to the True and Living God! He and Becki were married in 1995, and they were transferred to Sonora for work. It was there at Calvary Chapel Sonora that Justin became a disciple and committed himself to follow the Lord wherever He would lead. Justin ended up getting his dream job working in radio, and had his own morning show, for over 16 years. Then in 2012, he was asked to join the staff at CC Sonora. Justin was ordained and now serves his beloved family of believers, along side his wife, as the church Administrator, Assisting Pastor, and Youth Pastor. Justin wants others to see the amazing grace of God as he sees it and wants to love others as Jesus does. He desires to become an ultimate communicator of God's Word. Justin and Becki have 3 children. Their daughter is a nurse, their middle son is at CCBC Mexico, and their youngest is in high school. Justin’s vision and main purpose in ministry is in his words “to make you the most loved in your county!”
